My First Paid Food Collaboration

Expectations vs reality - what actually happened when we got our first paid collab, and what Rs. 200 taught us.

The Milestone We'd Been Waiting For

When we started Foodeliciousnp, getting a paid collaboration always felt like a big milestone. The kind of thing you imagine from a distance - proof that what you're doing actually counts.

And finally, that moment came. But it didn't go exactly how we imagined.

"Getting a paid collaboration always felt like a big milestone. And finally, that moment came."

How It Happened

Our first paid collaboration came through an app called Uptrendly. It was different from barter collaborations - here, creators were paid based on views.

And hearing that, we were honestly excited. Because in our minds, we were already thinking: what if this video blows up?

The Collaboration Spot

This collaboration was with Guras Nepal (Jhamsikhel). We went there, shot content, and tried their Devil's Drink and Blue Hawaii.

This time, it felt different. It wasn't just about creating content - it was about performance and results. The platform had a maximum payout of Rs. 1500, and like any creator, we hoped for the best. Good reach, high views, closer to the maximum.

Reality Hit

But when the video went live, it didn't perform as expected. The reach was lower. The engagement wasn't what we hoped.

And in the end, we earned Rs. 200.

At first, it felt a little disappointing. Not because Rs. 200 is small, but because our expectations were much higher.

"We earned Rs. 200. Not because the effort was small - but because growth takes consistency, not one reel."

Behind the shoot - the effort that went into that reel.

What We Actually Learned

That experience taught us something important: not every video will perform well, payment based on views is unpredictable, and growth takes consistency - not one reel.

But even though the video didn't blow up, this was still a huge step. It was our first paid collaboration. We earned money from content creation. We understood how the industry actually works. And that matters more than one viral post.

Looking Back

Now, that "low-performing" video doesn't feel like a failure. It feels like a lesson that shaped us. Because every creator goes through this phase - the expectations, the reality, and the learning.

Your first earning might not be big. Your first result might not be perfect. But it's still the moment where things become real. For us, Rs. 200 was proof that this journey had started.
